The British socialite accused of being Jeffrey Epstein's madam has finally resurfaced.
Ghislaine Maxwell, 57, was spotted with her dog eating a burger and fries outside of an In-N-Out in Los Angeles on Monday, the New York Post reported Thursday. Maxwell was reading a copy of The Book of Honor: The Secret Lives and Deaths of CIA Operatives, and the Post says she seemed surprised someone recognized her, telling an onlooker, "Well, I guess this is the last time I'll be eating here."
Facing sex trafficking charges, Epstein was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell on Saturday morning, of an apparent suicide. Several of the women who have accused Epstein of abuse said Maxwell groomed them so they could become Epstein's sex slaves, and also participated in their abuse. Virginia Giuffre accused Maxwell of recruiting her when she was 16 years old and working at President Trump's Florida club, Mar-a-Lago. Giuffre sued Maxwell in 2015, after Maxwell said Giuffre was lying about being forced to have sex with Epstein's powerful friends, including Prince Andrew and attorney Alan Dershowitz.
Maxwell, who was last photographed in public three years ago, denies being Epstein's madam, and has not been charged with any crimes. She started to live her life out of the spotlight a few years ago, as more allegations were made public against Epstein, and the Post reports that she was last seen residing with a tech CEO in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts.
